Pantone vs CMYK vs RGB
Pantone: brand-exact spot colour. CMYK: print 4-process for full-colour artwork. RGB: screen-only — never send for print.
When to use Pantone
Pantone (PMS) is a numbered library of pre-mixed spot inks. We match Pantone C (coated) or U (uncoated) chips for brand-critical colours: logo identity, single-colour screen print, embroidery thread match. Pantone is the only system that guarantees the same hex across screen-print, embroidery thread and pad print.
When CMYK (and RGB) apply
CMYK is the 4-process print model (Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Key) used in offset, DTF, digital print and sublimation for full-colour artwork, photos and gradients. Dynamic range is narrower than Pantone — some Pantone colours (oranges, neon, deep blue) cannot be matched in CMYK. RGB is screen-only (web, mockups); converting RGB to print always loses colour fidelity.
